HydroLift Farm Q&A

HydroLift Farm Q&A

Q1: How can I download the app?
A: You can scan the QR code on the instruction manual or go to our website- (https://www.opcomfarm.com/en/Index) -> Support> Smart Life App Download

Q2: How to setup the product?
A: You can go to our website (https://www.opcomfarm.com/en/Index) -> Products -> HydroLift Farm or YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/@opcomfarm3507/videos). There are videos of product setup videos on it.

Q3: How do I move the light bar when using the OFG003F?
A: Hold the rocker arms on both ends of the light bar and move it to the wanted position.

Q4: When installing the light bar of OFG003F into the rocker arm hooks, there are 4 spacers in the middle. How should they be installed?
A: The rocker arm slot should be aligned in the center of the 4 spacers, with one silicone spacer and one stainless steel sliding wire on each side.

Q5: When using the light bar, it becomes loose after rotating and cannot stay in the desired angle. What should I do?
A: Please tighten the hand screws on both ends of the light bar.

Q6: During the planting process, at what height and mode should the light bar be set?
A: For the OFG003F, adjust the light bar to be about 5cm above the height of the plants. As for the mode, you can modify it based on the growth stage of the plants (like leafy greens). For seedlings, set it to G mode, and once the height exceeds 10cm, switch to L mode for better growth.

Q7: Can the water flow be adjusted on the OFG003 water pump?
A: Yes, the water flow of the pump can be adjusted. There is a water control valve beside the pump, and it is generally recommended to set it to about half of the pump's stroke for optimal flow.

Q8: What are the water tank capacities of OFG003F and OFP002F?
A: The product specification sheet states that the water tank capacity of the OFG003F is 32L, while the OFP002F has a water tank capacity of 200L.

Q9: Which mode is generally used for planting with OFP002F?
A: For young seedlings, G mode is generally used. Once the plants exceed a height of 10cm, it is recommended to switch to L mode.

Q10: What is the reason for the fan turning on together with the light bar in the OFG002F?
A: Due to the large surface area of the product, when the light bar is turned on, it generates heat. Turning on the fan at the same time promotes air circulation, which helps with overall heat dissipation.

Q11: What issues should be noted during the planting process?
A: Key considerations include:
  1. Monitor the growth progress of the plants.
  2. Check the water level in the tank every three days to ensure it meets the required water volume for each cycle.
  3. Test the EC and pH values weekly to ensure they are within the specified range for planting.
  4. Pay attention to the height of plant growth. If the light bar is adjustable, adjust it according to the height, generally keeping it about 5cm above the plants.
  5. Ensure the water pump is functioning properly to avoid water shortages for the plants due to pump failure.
  6. Check that the light bar turns on at the scheduled times to avoid insufficient light affecting plant growth.

Q12: In addition to the pump operating cycle time originally set in the app, can the pump working time be modified?
A: Yes, within the app, customers can adjust the water pump's operation time and cycle frequency according to the needs of different plants.

Q13: How do you add fertilizer?
A: Please refer to the following seedling method and EC Meter usage instructions.

Q14: In the case of lettuce, what is the minimum production in one tray? How long does it take to get to 1 tray, how many pieces, how many grams? How many repots? On what day after sowing should repotting be carried out? How  many times do you need to change it?
Answer:
  1. 4L is 512 pots = 128 pots x 4 layers plates = 32 pots x 4 layers plates x 4L003 is 32 pots x 4 layers = 128 pots
  2. We designed the same 32-pot tray and L35T light tube for all lift farms to make maintenance easier for repair personnel. You only need to design different numbers for wall, 4L, 12L.
  3. Seedlings, young plants fill the pot. The leaf stage leaves half of the leaf spa into baby lettuce up to 60~80g    (10~12cm in diameter). It's hydroponics, like baby lettuce for best-tasting salads.
  4. Young plants take about 1~2 weeks. It takes about 4 weeks from a young plant to grow to a maximum of 60g of leaves. It will take 4~6 weeks in total. If you grow seedlings of young plants independently, you can save     time spent on harvesting leaves.
